APTIV™ films have been selected by Zhejiang New Jialian for their new mobile phone speaker diaphragm
Shanghai, China - Victrex Polymer Solutions, a division of Victrex plc., announced that APTIV™ films have been selected by Zhejiang New Jialian, a leading manufacturer of miniature acoustic components, for their new mobile phone speaker diaphragm. The use of APTIV film improves the acoustic performance, durability and life span of Zhejiang New Jialian’s latest mobile phone speaker.
To meet the ever increasing demands of the mobile phone speaker diaphragm application, Zhejiang New Jialian chose APTIV film to increase the performance of the speaker diaphragm and overcome various challenges in product design. With an established track record of success in mobile phone speaker diaphragms APTIV films provide a significant improvement in processability, acoustic performance - especially in low end response, durability, high temperature performance at temperatures exceeding 220°C (428°F), chemical resistance, tear resistance, and fatigue resistance versus by other high performance films on the market.
“Other films are not available in the range of thicknesses offered with APTIV films and do not provide the same level of performance and versatility, especially in this very thin format. “APTIV films offer a broad range of thicknesses from 6 to 750 microns along with outstanding film thickness tolerances to provide consistent acoustic properties, and through standard processing techniques, it can be formed into complex shapes and unique designs. Due to its versatility, APTIV film can satisfy a range of speaker diaphragm designs including; single layer, multilayer, specialty acoustics coated diaphragms, filled acoustic grades, and diaphragms with ceramic stiffeners. The inherent acoustic properties combined with high temperature, mechanical, fatigue and processing attributes of APTIV films, produced from VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer, are well suited for use in acoustic film applications and present numerous opportunities for OEMs, designers and processors in the manufacture of leading edge, high performance speaker systems and acoustics related components.
